No - I haven't compared the service or support. I'm pretty sure the WOW computer is being sold by a re-seller and the service is managed by the Telkin folks. The $300 is probably just the re-seller's profit. Call them both and ask them.

I haven't actually used the WOW / Telkin computer. My review was just that the Telkin appears to be exactly the same as the Telkin (identical images, etc.), but the Telkin is $300 less on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004W2RK82/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=wwwstauerwatc-20&camp=213381&creative=390973&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B004W2RK82&adid=01R34A9N86034ZZEM0D3&).

I have used the MyGait computer which looks very similar. The MyGait is well worth the effort if you are new to computers and is designed for older eyes and older hands. There is no worries about hackers and back-ups - they do it all for you remotely.

Thanks for your comments re the WOW! Computer which I just saw in AARP. Here's a question for you and your readers:Have you compared the service and tech support plans of these two computers? That's what's appealing to me right now as I consider this computer for an aunt who's new to this world.
Thanks! Margie

Thank you for your efforts on our behalf.
Dear Mr. Stephens,

On the internet I saw that you had reviewed the WOW computer, but I was unable to access it via your website. Is there any way for me to get your evaluation. Is it worthwhile? Can one print with it or save documents in ways accessible to others?

Thanks,

Steve

I just checked the site - It shows a $190 off, still cost better than $300 for (1) One.

UPDATE - I just came across this hearing aid product - MDHearingAid Acoustitone PRO Hearing Aid - the highest rated hearing aid on Amazon for about $180. You can read more about it on my MD Hearing Aid page. I haven't tried it or know anyone with it, but the reviews are fantastic.

Oh man, we don't have that much money to send our grands in home for the aged. But we take care of them at home which is better than in nursing home.

It’s amazing how technology has changed the way we live. Since the end of the Second World War, more products have been invented than in all of recorded history. After WWII came the invention of the microwave oven, the pocket calculator, and the first wearable hearing aid. While the first two have gotten smaller and more affordable, hearing aids haven’t changed much.

I agree - they really are crucial. My grandmother had a bad fall a few years ago and broke her hip. She was in a nursing home, but since she was in her room when she had the accident, the response of the nursing staff was probably not as quick as it could have been, as they didn't have an immediate notification that an accident had happened.

Medical alarm systems are crucial for seniors. Even those in good health can benefit from having one. I wrote a heartbreaking post about a friend that shows just how devastating a simple fall can be. You can check it out here: http://www.seniorsafety.com/wordpress/index.php/2010/09/20/avoid-disaster-with-a-medical-alarm-pendant/
